Creating Web Pages (designers, templates, more)

Getting Started: The creation of web pages.

There are so many ways to accomplish this that we can't possibly address each method or software product available. However, we will go through the more common approaches and software programs.

Using the services of a webmaster. This is highly recommended despite the associated costs. If you are unable to create a web site design that you are proud of, you may be better off investing in one that does project the image you desire. Ask around for referrals, or try Elance.com for freelancers.

We are happy to recommend:

Use a web site editing package, such as Macromedia Dreamweaver to create the site from scratch and help you "publish" the web site to the server. Even if you choose to use a template, such as those listed below, you will need a program to do web site editing.

Use a professionally designed web kit that you either download or create online. In many cases, you could enter your own specific text information and be done!

  • Templates2go.com offers a CD package of pre-designed web sites for use with the Dreamweaver program. (60 designs total, $129)
  • TemplateMonster.com has well designed website, flash and logo templates.
  • Pixelmill.com: Dreamweaver, Frontpage, HTML and Powerpoint templates.
