There are some cases where you might need a php.ini for a php 4x version. Upload to your web space, renaming it php.ini for use.
If you wish to customize your version of PHP, you will want to edit this file and upload it into your cgi-bin directory. Rename it as php.ini. Inside you will find all the config options for memory limits, magic quotes, safe mode, etc.

This is the most handy tool for anyone using PHP. Upload it into your www directory and then browse to /phpinfo.php. That said, some servers disable the phpinfo function via php.ini.
